The E-Type 3.8 Flat Floor Fixed Head Coupe is a classic that continues to turn heads and captivate car enthusiasts around the world of often regarded as the most beautiful car in the world. The Jaguar E-Type truly took the world by storm when it was unveiled at the Geneva motor show in 1961 so much so that the now legendary development driver Norman Dewis was tasked with driving a second car directly from the factory in Coventry to Geneva through the night to cope with the demand.  The looks of the car where truly breath-taking especially considering what was commonly available at the time, but what probably amazed people even more was that the car genuinely had the performance to back up the good looks, being capable of 150 MPH in standard form.

Chassis number 860036 was built as a Rhd-hand-drive fixed-head coupé & was uk supplied on the 1st of December 1961, this particular car was the 36th of the production line and first purchased by the Most Honourable Marquess of Exeter.
With just 4 previous owners the latest custodian has owned the car for over twenty years and it has undergone meticulous, substantial renovation. The car has had a few, discreet updates to improve it’s suitability for driving on to day’s roads. However the original items have been kept.   This unmolested original E-type has had the engine rebuilt and gearbox which are matching numbers. The original leather and carpets are in good condition and therefore retains it’s original patina. The car has been taken back to bare metal, where appropriate and resprayed back to it’s original colour, dark opalescent blue. The E-Type continued to be developed until its demise in 1974 albeit for many people these first cars remain the purest to form and the most desirable of all the models.
