The 2003 Porsche 996 Carrera 4 Cabriolet is a convertible sports car produced by Porsche from 1998 to 2004 and is equipped with a 3.6-liter flat-six engine, which produces around 320 horsepower. It features all-wheel drive (hence the "Carrera 4" designation) for enhanced traction and stability. This car is known for its impressive performance capabilities. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in approximately 5 seconds and has a top speed of over 170 mph. The engine is known for its smooth power delivery and distinct Porsche exhaust note, it typically came with a 6-speed manual transmission, providing drivers with precise gear shifts and an engaging driving experience. Alternatively, some models were equipped with a 5-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission as is the car we have for sale.

As a Porsche sports car, the 996 Carrera 4 Cabriolet offers a range of luxury and performance features. These may include leather upholstery, premium sound systems, climate control, and various customization options for both interior and exterior trim. The 996 generation of the Porsche 911 introduced a more modern design compared to its predecessor, with sleeker lines and updated styling cues. The Cabriolet variant features a power-operated convertible top, allowing for open-air driving. Porsche is renowned for its excellent handling dynamics, and the Carrera 4 Cabriolet is no exception. With its all-wheel-drive system and balanced chassis, it offers precise steering, superb cornering capabilities, and confidence-inspiring stability.

The first Porsche with a water-cooled flat-six engine was the fifth generation of the 911, known internally the 996. It appeared in 1997 and represented a completely new design. The body was substantially longer and wider than that of its predecessors, the handling more comfort-focused than ever – a faster, quieter and more manoeuvrable sports car. The 996 was the most significantly upgraded 911 to date. And yet, as was conveyed at the launch, it was still as much of a true  Porsche as it had ever been – perhaps even more so, for the 996 also bore the DNA of the sports car brand. Familiar proportions combined with state-of-the-art technology, a completely redesigned body with a longer wheelbase, more space in the interior and five overlapping circular instruments. The suspension of the 996 was an exemplar of precise cornering and perfect straight-line performance. On the outside, the 2001 Carrera 4 Cabriolet is distinguished by the changed shape of the tailpipes and the redesigned rear section. Other defining details include the titanium-coloured brake callipers and the decidedly shiny titanium-coloured logo on the bonnet.  While initially controversial among Porsche enthusiasts, the 996 has gained appreciation for its performance and usability over time.

Overall, the 2003 Porsche 996 Carrera 4 Cabriolet is a thrilling sports car that combines impressive performance with everyday usability and open-top driving enjoyment. Its distinctive Porsche styling and heritage make it a desirable choice for enthusiasts and collectors alike.
